Fedora 5

Fedora 5 was released last Monday; I guess this is the first “client ready” operating system having built in support of .NET (oops Common Language Runtime / CLR) support. There are even three apps built with Mono; a note taking app, a photo manager and a search/index app. There is even an easy going announcement of it here which is quite fun to read. Mommy says she’s really proud of me!

As per list here of what runs and what doesn’t with Virtual PC; Fedora 5 runs fine with Virtual PC/Server. I will try it out when time permits.

Fedora is an open source thing; which Redhat backs up; they then branch it out; add their own proprietry things to bring more value in it and sell it as RedHat Linux (they have different brands; similar to Windows)

So RedHat Linux is kind of super set of Fedora
