Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere!

I like what they are doing with Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere! Unlike Adobe Flex; where you need to deploy those XML files on a Java Web Container that generates the Flash files and the client need to have the Flash Plug-in; with WPF /E; the XAML/JavaScript can be processed by only a Plug-in; which currently is about 5 times small (they are saying that it might become little bulky as the product get matured and more features get into it), and if you are Notepad/emac developer; unlike Flash; you don’t need any development tool for this; you can continue to use your favourite text editor.

It will be out in few months time (before Vista I guess). BTW; CTPs of Expression tools are already out. We will be using one of this tool (Web Designer?) for WPF /E! See this video for the demo.

Some errors in this about Flex:

a) Flex does not require any XML files on a Java Web container.  Compile your Flex app (in the command line compiler that is part of the Free SDK and/or in the FlexBuilder tool) and deploy.  Nothing required on the server at all.

b) Flex does not require a development tool.  You can continue to use your favorite text editor.  The Compiler is free and command line.
