One more Windows Forms app!

Today (technically yesterday) I delivered one more .NET based desktop app. And guess what, I have even received “OKAY” response and go ahead for next version. The next version of this app is all about UI uplifting, better visualization and bringing the clarity. I will definitely be trying XAML / WFP for that, and I am looking forward for some great exploration and learning.

Man, this Windows Forms stuff, ClickOnce deployment and smart client approach has made our life breeze! I salute to those who invested their time and money building this all stuff and saved us writing those freaking slow “Applet based apps".

I never liked UI layer development, I enjoy doing backend stuff. On and off I try to pick some opportunities to keep my hands dirty. This assignment was one such endeavor, and I enjoyed doing that, learned those new bindingSource controls and how easy things have become in Windows Forms 2.

My DSL modem’s power adapter got screwed, using dialup right now, and things are quite “slow” (its like your browser has loaded some Applets in the page Smile)

No offence, I respect Java and especially the community of its users.

I have edited the post...

:) BTW, M$ definition of "Smart Client" differs from what other says (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/S/smart_client.html). I used that in context of what non M$ people think.
