What is in a Name?

Sal Cangeloso is frustrated about the naming convention used by Linux hackers, in his article, he is criticizing over weird names of Linux applications. He mentions some examples like:

Web Browser
Windows: Internet Explorer
Linux: Konqueror, Opera, Epiphany, Galeon, Firefox

Graphics Editing
Windows: Photoshop, Illustrator
Linux: GIMP

Well,i think it doesn`t matter at all,if one is a genuine *nix user,he won`t face difficulty to understand that GIMP is not some alternative form of Pimp, but actually a Image editing software,A computer illetrate won`t even get the idea about Internet Explorer or Illustrator, though I would like that Linux hackers should follow some rules when naming their applicaitons, it looks really weird when you find that Anjuta, the IDE for C/C++ for Linux is actually the name of girl friend of Naba Kumar, QT sounds cute but weird when you tell somebody that its actually   C/C++  GUI SDK for Linux/Windows/Mac.
