Industry Frameworks

Consider yourselves as a typical dynamic web site developer, how many times you have implemented user authentication and authorization system? You might have used certain “reusable techniques” to get some benefit in terms of effort, but still, there must be lot of duplications.

With ASP.NET v2, Microsoft is at least covering user authentication and authorization aspects, they are adding certain goodies, or you can say toppings J by presenting a standard administration site, couple of user controls and a nice API. Though the foundation is already available in v1.x, but this time, it’s wider!

I must say, it will really be good to have it; at least sites that will be developed on this platform will have homogeneous implementations and if you will inherit some application coded by some other group, you will pick things quickly.

What about many other areas? Different people do the same thing in different styles, e-g considering e-commerce domain, the shopping cart, product listing, top products, campaigns. Based on the same lines, Jason Mauss is presenting an idea of “Industry Frameworks”, and I personally think it is a great idea.
