Developing Software for Medical Professionals

I am supposed to develop a small payment/receipt/accounting system for the hospital. The in-charge of the unit (department) of hospital is sponsoring this experiment from his own personal pocket to streamline the “money” issues. (Personally I respect his vision)

As it’s a pilot project and few senior nurses will be operating this system, who happens to know computers because their children are using it AT homes. The problem is, their knowledge is limited to how to press keys and move mouse!

Personally, I think, creating software for medical professionals is one of the toughest jobs. Furthermore, my wife is doing her post graduation requirement with the same professor, and I have to go through all this Fatigue in courtesy J

well, very right about nurses but let me tell you another story... my friend is PM training in itd. He has seen two people operating same computer.. one is moving the mouse and other one is looking at screen and updating him about the coordinates of the cursor! Both of the people are govt. employees and being genius, were considered for IT training!
