It was quite an evening, the movies were well directed and produced. It felt very nostalgic and to a bit strange because I have almost forgot what it all used to feel like and I was watching the narrow, ...

  • Lets Segway!

I had a chance to ride the Segway HT (Human transport) at the Tech museum today. It was an I-series model which can travel 10 miles on a single charge. The machine is very smooth, quite, and runs on electric charge so no smog emissions. It can travel 10 miles on a single charge at a top speed of 12 mph. The price range is a moderate $4490 which is ...

  • Mohammad Ali Jinnah way (Devon Street) in Chicago

Devon street is segmented into three cultures, the Pakistanis call their section Mohammad Ali Jinnah way, the Indians call it A. K. Gandhi Street and the Kosher lovers are all happy with the name Devon street. Even though most of these street boards are taken off by the city authorities, you can still find some of them on the street.

  • Hulwa Puri at Ghareeb Nawaz Resturaunt

There is a 24 hour resturaunt on Devon street famous among cab drivers and students, its called the Ghareeb Nawaz Resturaunt. It offers a good bang for your buck in terms of quantity and the taste was pretty good by my standard (Chicago residents tend to disagree with me). • What's in a name

Pakistanis who came to US in the 70's tried their best to blend in to the mainstream, some changed their outlook, some even changed their names. And in some shape or form this tradition is still being carried out. I've had the pleasure of meeting Alexander Naqvi (Sikandar), Alex Mushtaq (Aamir), Mike Kothari (Muder), Hank Misri (Hunaid) and Sal ...
